SPECIAL EVENT ON ASTRONOMY

A special event on astronomy was organized by the Department of Physics. College Principal Prof. S.E.A. Jabarullah Khan delivered the presidential address, while the Head of the Physics Department, Prof. P. Kaleel Ahamed, welcomed the gathering. Assistant Professor Dr. K.A.Z. Syed Abuthahir outlined the objectives of the event. The special guest, Mr. S. Chellapandian—a TASS-trained astronomy expert, archaeological science researcher, INSPIRE Gold Medalist, and alumnus of the college, delivered a special address highlighting the importance of astronomy, advancements in space exploration, and scientific opportunities available to students. Additionally, Mr. Chockanathan, a TASS-trained expert and specialist in telescope handling, explained astronomical processes through engaging live demonstrations. Mr. N. Muthukumar (Secretary) and Mr. S. Arulanantham (Treasurer) of the Sivagangai Astro Club also attended the event. More than 120 students and faculty members from the Physics Department participated enthusiastically. Finally, Dr. G. Radha, Assistant Professor of Physics, proposed the vote of thanks.
