The award ceremony held in Chennai on 12.01.2026 on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Government, WORLD TAMIL DIASPORA DAY CELEBRATION was broadcast live in the college. The event was presided over by the Vice Principal, Dr. A. Mushtaq Ahmed Khan. Students from various departments participated.
The unique feature of this college was that unlike other colleges, this College was not started by any single rich man or business people. Rather, this college was started by the ordinary citizens who have the thirst to start an educational institution for higher education in their locality. A membership fee of Rs.11/- each was collected and every citizen of Ilayangudi has contributed to the emergence of the College.
